Whether you are a veteran of therapy or interested in exploring it for the first time, committing to therapy is both a gift to and an investment in your future self. Though some of us are lucky enough to lean on our friends and family to help us through hard times, sometimes an objective third party, who has training in processing emotions and cognitions, can help us navigate our worlds with more clarity and resolve.
If we view mental health a bit more like physical health, worthy of cultivating with proper mental nutrition and access to strong providers, perhaps we can shed the belief that only those in crisis need to sit and talk and be heard. After all, we all need to talk and be heard. That’s what makes us human.
